In the spring of 1969, Mrs. J. J. Barron (at the age of 93) turned the first shovel of dirt to initiate the building of the Trinity Baptist Church sanctuary. The sanctuary was constructed, and I am happy to say that worship and ministry have been occurring at that location ever since.
Throughout the years, it seems that God has led us to minister primarily to children. Every Sunday morning, we pick up children who otherwise would not be attending church. We transport them to our facility, feed them, and teach them about the love of Jesus. Many have come to know Him as Lord and Savior! We also minister to children through summer camps, roller skating parties, school supply parties, and many other activities.
We have Sunday School at 9:15, and worship at 10:30 a.m.. We have a Sunday evening Bible study at 6:00, and an off-campus children's ministry at the Lark Library Park at 6:30. On Wednesday evening we have our Church Supper at 5:30, Children's Choir and Adult Prayer Meeting at 6:30, and Adult Choir at 7:30.
If you're looking for a smaller-sized church family with a big heart, Trinity might just be for you. I have been blessed to pastor the Trinity membership for over eight years, and I can honestly say that we have a warm, caring group of people. Give us a try! We're located one block south of the corner of Pecan and Second Street. Look for the blue sign up in the air!
